Missionary Moment

I am a sucker for a good missionary message. I totally get swept away in the message and educational information about the country, the people and the customs.

Last night at church Beau Moore presented the field of Portugal. He did an outstanding job of mixing entertaining tidbits and real eternal facts. Just a few years ago, Portugal was considered worse than a 3rd world country in poverty....now because of the EU, it's leading Europe in financial growth. 97% of the country is Catholic with a real fear of being disowned, persecuted and ridiculed if they turn to Christianity.

The message was one I have heard over and over....but needed to hear again. It was a great reminder that in Portugal...just 40 miles from the coast of Africa, bordering Spain...there are a host of people who need to know Jesus. In our town, across the street, next door, at Brookshires, Walmart or the Farmer's Market, there are a host of people who need to know Jesus.

What can I do today to start sharing?

I totally identify with your love for the nations Gina. I also hear your heart in asking what we can do to share where we are, in the city He's planted us in. I kick myself when I see those missed opportunities, ask for His forgiveness, and then ask for another opportunity. I've had some neat answers to those prayers, and trust you will as well. Blessings to you and your family!-Kathy
