Thankful Thursday
This week I am thankful for:
1. An opportunity to attend an AWANA training conference with a few ladies from church. Not only did I come away with many ideas and lots of good instruction, the fellowship with these ladies was so refreshing.
2. My kids were at HOT HEARTS in Beaumont over the weekend. It's a christian conference for kids and they loved it. They haven't stopped talking about how good it was and how good the music and other attractions were.
3. A hardworking husband. He has focus and determination and I love watching how God uses his strengths for HIs glory.
4. Hard times that cause me to lean in to the Savior more.
5. Kind words that minister to your soul.

Thankful Thursday
This week I am thankful for:
1. A great start to Ladies Bible study Wednesday night. We are doing Charles Stanley's 30 Life Principles and we had a great kick-off night!
2. The routine of September...school, church activities, Taekwondo, Piano...all tidy and in their place on the calendar...makes me feel a little more organized without picking having to clean anything! LOL!
3. God's voice...and that after we listen we too can hear His Words....which strangely enough echo those found in His Word! I am thankful that He gives His wisdom liberally...cause lately it seems we can't get enough of it fast enough.
4. The little things like an old refrigerator....an old dryer and an old car. All that remind me how God has provided for us over the years with little to no repairs needed on any of them.
What are you thankful for?

The Gifts....Thankful Thursday
This week I'm thankful for these gifts:
1. For a glorious day at church Sunday...complete with gathered prayer for a sweet family in our church who suffered loss last week.
2. For a husband who will discipline his children.
3. For rain..twice!
4. For the opportunity to share....and receive kind words.
5. For a chat with my sister in law on the phone.
6. For a group of people who had a cancer fundraiser for one of my former student's sister, who has leukemia. Pray for Phoebe.
7. For three VBS's that are preparing to descend upon our town next week. Make Jesus Known!
8. For God's will revealed.
9. For 20 years celebrated...of imperfect marriage.
10. For a teenage boy...who is a social media guru...who will monitor our church feeds for us...proving again that God uses all our gifts, abilities and talents if we will allow Him to!
Thanks, God...for all these gifts and more.

1. A sister in law who takes my kids and their friends to the local pool and gives me a few hours of Hallmark Channel time...thanks Sassy!
2. Our church staff that is truly all over the place this week. Two in Peru, two at work camp and the rest holding down the fort here... Such a hardworking, God-n-people loving group of ministers.
3. .. the mission teams that are represented out of our church this summer 15 to Peru, 16 to Workcamp, 1 to Africa, 1 to Canada and at the end of the summer 38 to Wyoming. What a blessing to share Jesus worldwide!
4. For fresh veggies from a friend's garden.
5. For a long talk with my mom on the phone....even at 40, nothing is better than talkin' to your momma.
6. For mail from Papua New Guinea and for modern technology that makes thousands of miles not seem quite so far.
7. For the peace of God, which passes all my understanding.

The Gifts...Thankful Thursday
For this moment....
1. I am thankful for a week to catch up on a little rest. I have felt wiped out....possibly from the marathon cleaning of the past couple of weeks. Now, I feel like I can let my body rest without feeling the mom guilt. (which we can talk about at another time)
2. I am thankful that, in Texas, I can grow tomatoes through to November. Which means that although I didn't get them planted until last week, I'll have them in time to make some yummy salsa. Planted peppers too.
3. I am thankful for my Sunset Candle Co. candle that makes my house smell soooo good.
4. I am thankful for the beautiful flowers blooming in my yard. Moon lilies, lantana, lipstick ladies. God's handiwork all around me.
5. I'm thankful God hears our prayers and our dreams and sometimes He allows those to collide. He's doing that for me and I'm just about as blessed as I could ever imagine.

The Gifts....Thankful Thursday
A few things that I'm especially thankful for this week:
1. I found a $100 Lowe's gift card I had misplaced over 2 years ago. Ironic that I found it just a few days after I started deep cleaning my house and needed to buy little things like the blind wand that broke off the wood blinds 2 years ago, the toilet paper holder thing-a-ma-jig that holds the tp between the actual holder (that was specific wasn't it?), a shoe organizer, lightbulbs and a plastic shelving unit for my laundry room? I think not.
2. For the 10 potatoes that I dug up out of my garden. I know, I know....not a big yield....but still, after all they survived to just be with us today...2 late winter freezes, being mowed down not once, not twice...but three times...well, I think they deserve a standing ovation!
3. For the $25 pool that is making the summer more fun for the kids. Sure it's a glorified kiddie pool but it's already paid for itself by providing countless hours of fun for them. And it's cool and wet!
4. For the encouragement of God's Word. I've been revisiting some of my favorite Psalms in preparation for substitute teaching in Sunday School and I'm more convinced than ever of God's goodness, faithfulness and overwhelming protection over my life.

Thankful Thursday
Sometimes when things aren't going as you had originally planned, it seems hard to give thanks. I think this is just another trap we get sucked into by the enemy because in those moments of suffering or trial, thanksgiving eases the pain. It's like an ibuprofen for your soul. So this weeks list comes after a little wading through the rough waters and soul searching that disappointments bring. Does that make it a more important list than last week? I doubt it, just a little more thoughtful. So with that, here's what I'm thankful for this week:
1. I am thankful for the blessing of teaching a wonderful group of women each Sunday. We are doing a crash course about what God's Word says about 13 topics that women are interested. We're covering everything from money to motherhood to emotions. It's crazy fast and we have to hang on for our lives because we are covering so much material in a short amount of time.....BUT...it's all worth it to see their eyes light up when they grasp a new truth from God's Word....and to top it all off....I am learning so much by teaching it!
2. I am thankful for my husband. He is hardworking, positive, loving, patient, great with our kids and most of all he loves the Lord with all his heart.
3. I am thankful for the summer off. This will be the first summer in over 10 years that I have the entire summer to spend with my kids. What a gift!
4. I am thankful for diving appointments that interrupt my schedule. God's plan is always better than my appointment book!
5. I am thankful for food that was raised in our community for the food pantry that I help with.
I'm feeling better just typing all this. Giving thanks lifts the spirit and reminds me of the goodness of the Lord always....not just when I feel it or when I recognize it. But always.

4. That God is the ultimate healer....and what he doesn't deliver you from he means for your good as part of His purpose to bring more glory to Himself.

1. I am thankful for first morning hugs from my kids.
2. I am thankful for the opportunity to watch God's peace smother a friend's family this week.
3. I am thankful for the new life that is springing up all around me...even with my yard being a mess, the roses and lilies are still poking out there reminding me that God's in the beautification industry, spiritually speaking too!
4. I am thankful for a group of thoughtful parents that were sweet to bring me something for Teacher Appreciation Week.
5. I am thankful that Savannah was baptized on Sunday.

Thankful Thursday
My list of gratitudes for this week includes ....
1. I am thankful for a God who sees all and knows the truth. When the world or others misunderstand or choose to believe something else...He knows each motive and the truth of everything. It's this God who sees my heart...yes, the good and bad and He loves me, in fact He delights in me. It's that precious relationship that grows more special each day.
2. I am thankful that summer break is just 16 school days away.
3. I am thankful that the bad storms that ripped through GA last night did not harm my family.
4. I am thankful for my kids who are such troopers. It's been a juggling act lately with our schedules and they just go with the flow. Late nights and early mornings....and they are still smiling and bubbly.
5. I am thankful for the special sweet spirit that seems to be blossoming in our Wednesday night service at church.....or maybe it's been there all along and finally my spirit is in tune with His. There's new music, personal updates on our prayer list and an encouraging devotion to help edify believers. Love this time together.
